Eco-Site in Seine-et-Marne France

Welcome to Les Temps Perchés, an eco-site where nature and comfort meet in perfect harmony. This unique place is designed to offer an immersive experience in the heart of nature while minimizing our environmental impact. In this article, we will introduce you to the ecological facilities available and provide tips on how to respect this little corner of paradise.

Why Les Temps Perchés Is an Eco-Site

Les Temps Perchés is more than just a place to stay; it’s a commitment to sustainable living. Everything has been designed to reduce our ecological footprint: from eco-friendly infrastructure to the use of environmentally responsible products. We firmly believe that every action counts and that protecting our planet starts with small daily habits.

Eco-Friendly Facilities for Your Comfort

Shared Kitchen

Our shared kitchen for campers in tents or vans is fully equipped to meet your needs while respecting the environment. You’ll find an oven, a sink, and cooking utensils (pans, pots, dishes, cutlery, glasses, plates, etc.).

We emphasize the exclusive use of biodegradable toiletries and cleaning products, including dishwashing liquids, soaps, and other products, to prevent water pollution and preserve local biodiversity.

Event Space and Bar

Les Temps Perchés also has a space dedicated to events and a small bar where you can relax by the water and, why not, meet other guests around a campfire or a drink.

This area is designed to blend with the surrounding nature, using recycled materials and eco-responsible practices. Please keep the area clean and do not leave any waste behind.

Use of Dry Toilets

The dry toilets available at Les Temps Perchés are simple to use and environmentally friendly.

To use them properly:

1 – Place a thin layer of carbon material, such as wood chips or sawdust (available on site), at the bottom of the container.

2 – Do your business.

3 – Add a new layer of carbon material to cover the waste, neutralize odors, and facilitate composting.

⚠️ It is important to only dispose of toilet paper and the provided materials to ensure effective composting. Finally, close the lid properly to prevent insects and maintain hygiene.

Yurt Hygiene

Each yurt has its own private dry toilet outside the accommodation—an eco-friendly alternative that uses no water and allows organic waste to be composted.

For showers, we have installed solar showers with ambient temperature water. It is essential to use eco-friendly soap during your shower to avoid soil contamination.

Tiny House Hygiene

Our Tiny House at Les Temps Perchés also has a dry toilet. The toilet is located inside the accommodation, but don’t worry about odors. If you follow our instructions for using dry toilets correctly, you will have no issues!

The wastewater from the Tiny House goes into the soil. This system requires the use of eco-friendly cleaning and shower products.

The water from the taps in the Tiny House is not drinkable!

Please bring your own drinking water.

Barbecue and Fire Pit

Each accommodation has a barbecue or fire pit, allowing you to enjoy friendly outdoor moments. However, it is crucial to remain vigilant, especially during dry periods. Always supervise the fire and fully extinguish it after use to prevent any risk of wildfire.

Household Waste Management

Recycling

At Les Temps Perchés, recycling is essential to reduce our ecological footprint.

Recyclable bin: Plastics, metals, and paper must be sorted and placed in the corresponding recycling bins in the village.

Glass: Glass should be taken to the dedicated glass recycling bins in the town of Soisy-Bouy. The nearest glass recycling bin is available locally.

These materials are then sent to recycling centers where they are processed and reused. It is important not to mix recyclable materials with organic or non-recyclable waste to ensure effective sorting and maximize recycling.

Non-recyclable bins: Please deposit non-recyclable waste in the designated bins in the village of Soisy-Bouy.

Where to throw your trash?

There is no household garbage collection at the pond. Please bring your trash to the village of Soisy-Bouy. Garbage collection occurs every Wednesday.

What to Put in the Compost?

For composting, we encourage the use of our composters for organic waste.

✅ You can deposit fruit and vegetable scraps (including peels), crushed eggshells, coffee grounds, and unbleached paper filters… More generally, all your food waste can be added.

These organic materials will decompose to create rich soil that will nourish our future plantings.

Before you leave: your dry toilets and barbecue ashes if you used them. + =

❌ However, certain items should not be added to the composter, such as animal products (meat, fish, dairy) which should be thrown in the black bin, fats (e.g., leftover oil), and anything non-biodegradable. Do not put personal hygiene products (tampons, pads, wipes, etc.) in the dry toilet bin. These items are not biodegradable and should not be added to the compost.

By following these guidelines, you contribute to creating high-quality compost that helps nourish plants and maintain a healthy ecosystem.

Activities at Our Eco-Site

To relax and enjoy nature, we provide a rowboat for the pond. You can also lounge on deck chairs available at each accommodation. Additionally, hammocks are available in the accommodations—you are welcome to set them up wherever you like on your site, making sure to take them down and store them before departure.

By staying at Les Temps Perchés, you choose a lifestyle in harmony with nature. We invite you to respect these eco-friendly facilities and adopt sustainable practices during your stay. Together, let’s protect this unique place and our planet for future generations.
